SAMHAIN

SAMHAIN IS PROBABLY MY MOST FAVOURITE FESTIVAL OF THE YEAR. IT REPRESENTS MAGIC AND MYSTICISM AND UNFURLS ROUTES TO OTHER ENCHANTMENTS, SOME MAY SAY 'OTHER WORLDS'.

ALLOWING OURSELVES TO BE EXPOSED TO THE 'OTHERWORLD' IS SIMPLY AN ACT OF RELEASE - TO NOTICE, BE OPEN TO AND SURRENDER TO THE GREATER ENERGY THAT IS ALL AROUND US.

IT IS A PRACTICE SO AS TO ACHIEVE A HIGHER SENSE OF CONSCIOUSNESS AND CONNECTION WITH ALL THAT EXISTS AROUND US. A MEDITATION TOWARD THE IDENTIFICATION OF YOUR OWN ENERGY WITHIN THE LARGER WEAVE OF ENERGY THAT IS NATURE.

IT IS HERE, WITHIN THIS WEAVE, WHERE WE CAN FIND THE PORTALS TO GREATER KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM. AND HERE, WHERE WE CAN LEARN FROM OUR ANCESTORS AND THOSE THAT CAME BEFORE US.

SAMHAIN REPRESENTS THE END OF THE BRIGHT SEASON THAT BEALTAINE HERALDS. IT CELEBRATES THE ENERGY OF DARKNESS AS WE MOVE FROM THE BRIGHTER DAYS THAT REAP SO MUCH HARVEST AND GOODNESS, TO THE DARK DAYS OF WINTER AND REFLECTION.

SOME OF THE PLANTS THAT ARE SYNONYMOUS WITH SAMHAIN:

  • ROESMARY (Rosmarinus officinalis) - FOR REMEMBRANCE
  • SAGE (Salvia officinalis)- FOR PURIFICATION, HEALING AND CLEANSING
  • BAY (Laurus nobilis)- FOR PROTECTION AND LOVE
  • ROWAN (Sorbus) - FOR PROTECTION AGAINST NEGATIVE ENERGIES AND EVIL
  • HAWTHORN (Crataegus) - FOR LOSS, SEX AND DEATH
